Torreciudad is developing an “ecological conversion” process, which is an expression used by Pope Francis in his encyclical Laudato si.
During its construction, an attempt was made to locate the building so that neither the landscape of the area nor the care of the natural environment would be negatively impacted. The responsible use of the area has always been encouraged among the pilgrims and visitors, motivating care for cleanliness and environmental respect.
Awareness Days for the care of nature, have been planned, mainly targeted towards the youth. There are also plans for waste management, the procurement of products with lower environmental impact, and improvements in water supply as well as the efficient use of water (in landscaping, etc.).
